Recently I came across some photos I took when I did a program for Abu Dhabi University in the United Arab Emirates.

I was asked to do a customer service program for their organization. I found the group to be bright, articulate and eager to improve their efforts to create a great student experience for those attending the university.

In particular, I found this photo I took. I don’t remember the exercise per se–it’s not one that I usually have in my program. They came up with it, and I think the exercise was very clever:

Can you add some of your own? I would consider:
- “Yes…But”
- “That’s not our policy.”
- “That’s the way we’ve always done it.”
Perhaps you can think of some more. Share them with us if you can think of any. There are simply some things you never say to your customer.
